A pet can be an amazing thing to have in your life. They can provide you with companionship if you get a little lonely. Can teach skills like responsibility amongst us all but especially in children. They can bring a new level to our lives that we didn’t even know existed. However, they are a commitment and not something to make a quick decision on. Some of us need pets in our lives that are straightforward to look after and not complicated. So I thought I would share with you some of the easiest pets to take care of. Perhaps it may help you decide on your next pet.
Cat
A cat is a fairly easy pet to look after. They don’t require much in the way of things. Just a bed, a litter tray if they are young and their food. If you have a particularly playful cat or getting a kitten, you may want to consider some toys as well. It is recommended that you have an outside space or access to the outdoors so your cat can go out, but it isn’t essential. If you have a cat from kitten age, then they could learn to become a house cat where they stay in. They make great companions so work well if you do live on your own. They also don’t require much other than a lot of love from their owners. Most cats crave attention.
Dog
If you want a pet that needs a little more from their owner, then look no further than a dog. I am a self-confessed crazy dog lady and think they make great pets. A dog does require a little more care and attention than a cat does. For example, you do need to take your dog out for regular exercise and walks, once a day at least. They also don’t like to be on their own for too long so be conscious as to how much time they will be at home on their own while you are at work or away. A dog is so loyal, and they make great companions. There are many breeds of dog so you can opt for a smaller or bigger dog. It would be handy to get them a bed and of course you will need their food. It’s always worth knowing a list of foods poisonous to dogs. Just in case.
Fish
Finally, the least maintenance pet would be a fish. They are, however, still a pet to consider. They would be the one that you don’t need to buy much for. They just need regular feeds, and their tank cleaned out. There Is some preparation needed in advance, and that would be the type of tank you have and where it will go. It would also depend on the choice of fish you have. It would be best to speak to someone in a pet shop who would be best placed to advise you on the best things to buy.
I hope this helps you make an informed choice when it comes to taking on a pet.
